Thinking about elections, patriotism, and love of country - consider the most recent Medal Of Honor recipient, Sergeant Major Thomas Payne. SGM Payne received his medal on September 11, 2020, the 19th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Read his story, and try to keep a dry eye as you think about the sacrifices our men and women in the military, our police and other first responders, and others have made throughout our history to keep our country a strong Republic.

Do you believe 'someone else will do everything?'. You won't get medals for volunteering, but everyone needs to help! Please volunteer this election season, and bring a friend.

Finally, closing with a quote from Thomas Paine, who helped inspire the American patriots to declare independence from Great Britain:

These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their county; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny like hell is not easily conquered yet we have this consolation with us, the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly; it is dearness only that gives everything its value.
— Thomas Paine
